William Jerrol Taylor, 75, of Helena, Georgia, passed away on May 27, 2026, at Jeff Davis County Hospital in Hazlehurst, Georgia.

He was born on May 17, 1951, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late William Junior Taylor and Vernell Batten Taylor. Throughout his life he was known for his steady presence, kind spirit, and devotion to the people he loved. William lived a life marked by faith, hard work, and service to others, and he touched many lives in both his family and his community.

Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Visitation with the family will be held in the Chapel prior to the service from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Burial will follow at Jones Family Cemetery.

William worked for many years as a meat cutter at Piggly Wiggly, where he was respected for his reliability, strong work ethic, and friendly nature. Later in life, he answered a higher calling and became a minister, a role that reflected his deep faith and his desire to encourage and uplift others. He was a member of Towns Church of God.

He was a loving husband to Alice Jones Taylor of Helena, and together they shared a life built on love, commitment, and family. William was a devoted father to David Wyatt (Tonja) of Cochran, James Lee Wyatt of East Dublin, Shasta Michelle Baffa (David) of Pennsylvania, William Brian Wyatt (Becky) of Cadwell, Cameron Taylor (Brittany) of Virginia, Cheryl Musick (Chris) of Texas, Caryl Mitchell of South Carolina, and Lee Wyatt (Ashlee) of Helena. William was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. He is survived by his brother, Gary Taylor of Douglas; his sisters, Clara Dowdy of Douglas, Julie Cliett of Fitzgerald, Sharon Cothren (Horace) of Statesboro, and Lavern Batten of Tifton; and several nieces and nephews.

William will be remembered as a quiet source of strength to those who knew him, and his life reflected the values of love, service, and perseverance.
