Services for William Russell Prickett of McRae will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5 at the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home in Helena. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, McRae. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at the funeral home.

The Rev. Jimmy Cothren will officiate.

Mr. Prickett, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his residence in McRae.

He was the son of the late Gideon Robert and Mattie Louise Clements Prickett of Workmore and was the widower of Sara Prickett. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mindy Caraway.

He worked with NASA for several years before moving back to Telfair County to take over the family farm. He was the owner and proprietor of Telfair Welding. He was a Master Mason.

Survivors include daughters, Susan (Jimmy) Joines of Eastman, Barbara (Don) Grinstead of McRae, Kathy (Melvin) Caraway of McRae, Martha (Gene) Wellborn of Ft. Valley, Sheryl Bloodworth of McRae and Patsy (Billy) Jones of McRae; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will be at his home in McRae.
