William Holland "Bill" Hunt, Jr.
Saturday, August 23, 1952 – Monday, September 7, 2026
He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing.
William Holland “Bill” Hunt, Jr., passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born on August 23, 1952, in McRae, Georgia to the late William Holland Hunt, Sr. and Bernice Seigler Hunt.
Bill was a graduate of Middle Georgia College. He will be remembered as a man who devoted many years of his life to serving others through his career in the banking industry. Throughout his career, he held the positions of Vice-President, Sr. Vice-President and City President. For more than 30 years, he served the people of Telfair, Dodge, and Wheeler counties, building lasting connections through his steady presence and commitment to his community. Following his career in banking, he worked for 14 years at Ryals Drug Store, where he continued to enjoy serving and connecting with the people in his community.
Outside of work, Bill found great enjoyment outdoors and in the company of others. He loved hunting, especially duck hunting, and also enjoyed clay shooting and golfing. These interests brought him many happy times and reflected his love of sports, fellowship, and time well spent. Bill was a member of McRae Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Mr. Reggie Sheffield officiating. Interment will be private.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hunt of McRae; his son, Brian Hunt of Savannah; his step-daughter, April Mills (Raleigh) of Graham; and his grandsons, Will Parker of Graham and Kade Mills of Savannah. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill also leaves behind a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Holland Hunt, Sr.; his mother, Bernice Hunt; and his step-mother, Peggy Hunt.
Bill’s life was marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and enjoyment of the outdoors. He will be remembered with love and gratitude by those who knew him, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing.
On behalf of our family, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Adoration Home Health Care, Georgia Hospice Care, Dr. Brian Siddall and Kayla Waters. You guided us through this journey with grace and compassion.
