Wendell Towns, 76, of McRae, died on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Dublin at the Serenity Place Hospice.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Emerson Towns and Lessie Louise Johnson Towns. He was married to Cathy Bass Towns of McRae.

Wendell was a member of the Helena United Methodist Church and retired as the Fire Chief with the City of McRae Helena.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 13th in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home and interment will follow in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Glen Hancock will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Towns of McRae; 2 sons, Benjie (Jenna) Towns of Pooler and Timothy (Hannah Hightower) Towns of McRae; 2 grandchildren, Caden Towns and Morgan Towns both of Pooler; 2 sisters, Katherine Runyon of Cedar Towns, Ga., and Quinell McGill of Tennell, Ga.; and many friends also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 12th in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home.
