Walter George Vaughn, 85, of McRae, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Savannah. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the chapel. Interment will follow in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Pete Barlow will officiate.

Mr. Vaughn was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He had worked at Roydon Wear for many years and the State Prison System before retiring. He was a member of the McRae United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cleveland Vaughn and Annie Mae McKinney Grantham and his step-father, William Grantham.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jean McDuffie Vaughn of McRae; sister, Claudie Mae Bennett of Thomaston; sister-in-law, Rita McDuffie of Hiram; dear friends, Lynette Price of Alamo and Jimmy Knight of McRae; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
