Vernon Leonard Johnson

Vernon Leonard Johnson, 72, of McRae, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 22 at the Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae.

The Rev. L.S. Seabolt will officiate.

Vernon was the son of the late Leonard and Johnnie Livingston Johnson of McRae and was married to Judy Marie Smith Johnson of McRae.

He had retired from Hazlehurst Mills in Hazlehurst.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Johnson of McRae; 2 daughters, Pamela (Lynn) Sellars of Eastman and Vickie (David) Burnsed of Gainsville; 4 grandchildren, Amber Akins, Jonathan Burnsed, Christin (Andrew) Johnson and Samantha Burnsed; 3 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Johnson, Bentley Johnson and Keegan Johnson; son-in-law, James Atkins of McRae; 1 sister, Lennie (Clifton) Baxter of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be given to the church of your choice or to a children's home of your choice.
