Tommy Joe Marchant

Mr. Tommy Joe Marchant of Milan, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Telfair County, he was a retired diesel mechanic and farmer. Later in life he earned an Associate's Degree from Middle Georgia College and worked for the Georgia Department of Corrections teaching diesel mechanics classes to inmates. He was a Member of Rockwell Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe I. Marchant and Chesterlee Lowery Marchant, brother Robbie Marchant and nieces Dichelle McDuffie and Emily Pope.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Dianne Davis Marchant, children Joey (Lori) Marchant and Robin (Donnan) Oyler, grandchildren Davis (Mary Beth) Marchant, Macy Grace Marchant, Rylee Oyler and Parker Oyler, siblings Dianne M. Walker, David Marchant (Sandy) and Laura Phillips (David), brothers and sisters in law Bo (Karen) Davis, Sheila (Andrew) Keen, Jake Keen, and Cindy McAnally, aunts and uncles Billy Adams and Joanne Adams, Buena Lowery and Charlie Carmichael and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Rockwell Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Jones and Reverend Benny Moore officiating with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will start one hour before the service.
