Tom Watson Wilkes

Graveside services for Tom Watson Wilkes, age 98, of McRae will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 13 in the Telfair Memorial Gardens, McRae. Lay Minister Norwood Davidson will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 12 at the funeral home.

Mr. Tom, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014, at the Serenity Hospice in Dublin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Bowen Wilkes and his parents, Elisha M. and Lavanna Ann Braddy Wilkes and grandson, Ted Todd.

He loved working outside, keeping his yard and many of his friends and neighbors yards groomed. He had retired from Dixie Oil Company, where he was owner and operator.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Peggy Todd of McRae and Sheri (Parker) Cape of Tallahassee, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Hannah Cape, Teresa White and Sharon Marchman; 5 great-grandchildren, Adam White, Morgan White, Jordan Marchman, Makenze Marchman and Noah Todd; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Lincoln Marchman, Beryl Marchman and Luther Marchman; 1 sister, Bernice Baker of Atlanta.
