Funeral services for Thomas Charles "Tim" Simmons, Sr. of McRae will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens.

The Rev. Royce Hulett will officiate.

Mr. Simmons, age 66, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Rye Simmons, his mother, Mable Scott McMillan and a sister, Terry Messnick.

He was a foreign car mechanic and had taught transportation 4 years at Telfair County High School. He had been a warehouse supervisor at SNC Lavelin for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Daniel Simmons of McRae; children, Thomas (Timmy) C. Simmons, Jr. and Mandy of Duluth, Julie Melinda Simmons of McRae and William Charles Gable Jr. and Renee of Baxley; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Julie Rose Patterson and John of Nashville, TN; special friend, Joyce A. Goodner of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at the funeral home.
