Obituary

Thelma Yawn was born on September 10, 1932 to George Snellgrove and Ethel Sellars Snellgrove

Ms. Yawn was married to J.W. Yawn, of Milan, GA. She had a daughter, Barbara Yawn Gay and a son, Josh Yawn. She was blessed with three grandchildren; Jennifer Loughmiller (husband Alan), Heather Wells (husband Steve), and Chelsey Cliett (Yawn), three great grandchildren; Tim Loughmiller Jr. and Fletcher and Isabella Wells.

Ms. Yawn went to her heavenly home on February 7, 2019 after a long term illness. She was a loving, giving woman, always lifting others spirits with laughter. She could grow anything and was an awesome southern cook. She loved fishing, gardening, and making preserves and tarts that she shipped all over the world for families to enjoy. Her laughter and gift of making all feel welcome will be missed dearly.

Services to honor Ms. Yawn will be Monday, February 11 at 7:00pm, with visitation being one hour prior to service in the chapel of Lowes Funeral Home. Reverend John Conley will be officiating. Contributions to assist with the funeral expenses in lieu of flowers can be made to Lowe's Funeral Home of McRae-Helena, GA 31037.

Ms. Yawn was preceded in death by her husband J.W. Yawn, and her daughter Barbara Yawn Gay.

Lowes Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Please express your condolences online at lowesfuneralhome.net.
