Shirley Ann Smith, age 84, of Milan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, at her residence in Milan. She was born on November 19, 1940, to the late Jerry Cravey and Reva Selph Cravey.
A funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. The family will visit with friends at Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Rev. James Fennell will officiate, assisted by Ronny Saxon. Interment will take place at Milan City Cemetery.
Shirley's life was one of service and dedication, as she embraced the role of a self-employed caregiver, a vocation that allowed her to touch the lives of many with her kindness and nurturing spirit. Her work was not just a job but a calling, as she provided comfort and companionship to those in need, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cared for.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Smith and her parents, Jerry and Reva Cravey.
Shirley leaves behind her two daughters, Ann Norris and Phyllis Smith, both of Milan, her grandchildren, Starlit Pope (William) of Glenwood and Misty Roberson (Bay) of Sumter, South Carolina, her great-grandchildren, Brandon Pope (Heather), Sarah Miles (Matthew), Hannah Leyland (Josh), Noah Pope (Stella), Eathan Roberson, Miriam Roberson, Bradley Pope, and Nicholas Pope, and her great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Pope, Lucas Leyland, Raelynn Pope, and Adalyn Leyland. She also leaves behind her beloved puppy, Rudie, who was a constant source of comfort and joy.
Shirley's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of family, friendship, and service. As we bid farewell to Shirley Ann Smith, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart generously given, and a soul that will forever enrich the fabric of our memories.
