Sarah Marilyn Caldwell, 79, of McRae, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia. She was born on October 9, 1946, in Alamo, Georgia.

A graveside service will be held at Fishing Creek Cemetery on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. Bobby Floyd will officiate.

Marilyn's journey began as the cherished daughter of the late Ollie and Mamie Varnadoe Floyd. She grew up in the warm embrace of Alamo, where she learned the values of kindness and hard work. Marilyn's life was one of service and care, as she embraced her role as a homemaker.

A devoted mother, Marilyn's legacy is carried on through her loving children: Patrick Caldwell, Tim Caldwell (Penny), Richard Caldwell (Maria), Barry Caldwell (Whysper), and Shawn Caldwell (Jessie), all of McRae. She was the proud grandmother to sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Connie Floyd of McRae and Nell Floyd of Macon, who remember her fondly and will miss her dearly.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin Lester Caldwell, her son Edwin Caldwell, her daughter Rebecca Caldwell, and her parents, Ollie and Mamie Floyd.
