Sadie Erica
Yates
Nov 10, 1997 — Feb 3, 2013
In Memory of our beloved Sadie Erica Yates,15 years old. She was taken from us February 3, 2013 in a terrible accident in McRae, Georgia. She was born November 10, 1997 at St. Vincent's Hospital here in Jacksonville, Florida. Our hearts will forever be imprinted with our wonderful Angel.
Sadie was in the Girl Scouts as a young girl and grew so much from that experience here in Jacksonville where she attended grades K – 8th. As she grew in mind and spirit, we as a family decided she needed new growth in other areas that Jacksonville could not offer here in Duval County. We took a leap of faith and moved to McRae, Georgia where we had family and she attended Telfair County High School (TCHS). She immediately fell in love with the area and all the folks she came in contact with. She had many friends at school and was very active and joined the Literary and Creative Arts Club at TCHS. Sadie was always creative and had attended art and dance summer camps in her past so this was the perfect club for her. Her plan was to graduate with honors and go to the Savannah School of Art and Design (SCAD). She wanted to get a degree in production and directing. Her plan was in motion – she had already been named in the McRae Enterprise with Honors and Merit this past semester.
She always put family first. One of her favorite quotes was "The greatest of all is Love." She lived those words everyday. She would be the first to lend a hand or help out with whatever was needed in any situation. She knew how fortunate she was and would share anything she had with those who needed it. Her heart was genially full of love and was willing to share that with anyone who would let her.
She is survived by her parents Steven Eric and Susan Norris Yates, her Grandparents Glenn & Charlene Yates, two brothers with their wives Joseph & Amber, Matthew & Angela Castelvecchi. She had four uncles (Rick, Barry, Jeff and Joel) along with six aunts (Polly, Crystal, Debra, Edwena, Kelley and Angie), along with one nephew (JJ), five nieces (Mackenzie, Karissa, Lindsey, Haley and Shelby.) She had numerous great aunts & uncles, along with many cousins. So many dear friends she had made along the way that she cherish everyday. She also has two dogs Holly & Dolly that she was sure the sun rose and set in those two little pups.
A private Memorial Service will be held with family.
