Ruth Walker Maloy

Services for Ruth Walker Maloy, of Rhine, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Sharon Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Jody Yancey and the Rev. Scott McDuffie will officiate.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd at Lowe's Funeral Home.

Aunt Ruth, age 89, passed away July 1, 2014, at her residence in Rhine. She was the oldest member of Sharon Baptist Church, had retired from C & J Shirt Factory and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Maloy; parents, Carlton and Georgia Mae Barron Walker; 2 sisters, Johnnie Will Fowler and Vivian Maloy.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Doris Woodard of McRae and Vecha Walker of Bradenton, Florida; brother-in-law, John Lewis Fowler of Rhine; special nephew, Larry Maloy of Rhine; nieces and nephews, Hazel Keen of Abbeville, Pauline (Wesley) Yawn of Rhine, Mary (Dennard) Spires of Rhine, Clara Fowler of Perry, Karen (Sammy) Rawlins of Helena, Don (Waynie) Maloy of Jacksonville, Harris (Margaret) Maloy of Rhine; several other nieces and nephews; caregivers, Sheila Wilcox, Clenzia Majette, Linda Eady, Daphene Singleton; and many friends.
