Ronnie Leon McCranie, age 68, of Chauncey passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Telfair County, he was the son of the late Olan B. and Bessie Mae Williams McCranie. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. After coming home from the war he moved to Florida where he met the love of his life Barbara Ann Crawford and married. He was a retired mechanic, loved Nascar racing and was of the Baptist Faith. After the death of his wife in 2012 he returned home to Chauncey and enjoyed life to the fullest. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by 3 sisters – Annie Ruth Simone, Helen Davis, and Jewell McCranie: 7 brothers – Olan, Raymond, Bobby, Willie, Russell, Royce, and one infant.

Survivors: 1 brother – Enoch McCranie of Lakeland Fl. ; 2 stepchildren- Joedy (Stacey) Carter and Karen Carter both of Ocala Fl. And a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery where Ronnie and Barbara will be placed together in the family plot. Rev. Bobby Joe Ryals will officiate.
