Ronald "Ronnie" Willard Williams

Ronnie Williams, 68, of McRae, formerly of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at his residence.

Mr. Williams was married to Carolyn Dixon Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Filmore and Myrtle Brown Williams; grandmother, Cynthia Williams; sister, Julie Keener.

He grew up a strong, confident man, and raised 3 children who became amazing adults. He worked hard, fought a tough battle in Vietnam and left an everlasting impression on family, friends, and especially his grandson.

He served in the United States Army and was an active member of the Americal Division from 1968-1969 during the Vietnam Era. He was assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry, 196 Light Infantry Brigade as a Platoon leader. During his tour of duty, he survived action in 1968 at Cam Duc and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Combat Medal, Two Overseas Bars and the Combat Infantryman Badge.

He had retired from Air Liquide American Corporation as Plant Operator in Merritt Island, Florida.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 8 at the Helena United Methodist Church.

The Rev. Glynn Hancock will officiate.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol Williams of McRae, formerly of Merritt Island, Florida; 3 children, Rachel (Douglas) Hydorn of Melbourne, Florida, Colby Williams of Melbourne, Florida and Jesse Williams of McRae; 1 grandson, Brayden Kubiak of Melbourne, Florida; brothers and sisters, Cathy (Tom) Ball of Merritt Island, Florida, Phil (Jo) Williams of Sandersville, Georgia, Cindy (Dwite) Hackney of Cocoa, Florida, Mary (Ray) Anderson of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Tim Williams of Jupiter, Florida, James (Bubba) Williams of Rockledge, Florida and Rickey (Connie) Williams of Mims, Florida; special aunt and uncle, Mary Francis and Fontaine Brewton.
