Peter (Pete) Eugene Barlow, age 60, of McRae went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 30, 2014.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the McRae First United Methodist Church.

Officiating will be Dr. Wayne E. Moseley, Bishop James R. King, Jr. and Rev. Tommy Mason.

Pete was the son of the late Melvin Howard and Betty Jean Frandsen Barlow of Carrizo Springs, Texas.

He was the pastor of the McRae First United Methodist Church and the Chaplain with the Telfair County Sheriff's Department. He was a Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy Submarine Service.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Eve Hitt Barlow of McRae; 6 children, Brandee (Tab) Tillman of Warner Robins, Darlene (Brian) Solomon of Thomaston, Melissa (Randy) Winters of Thomaston, Charles (Krystal) Belew of Cartersville, Melinda (James) Winters of Thomaston and Danielle (Devin) Porter of Rome; 17 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 4 sisters, Marlene Barlow of Covington, Louisiana, Diane Autrey of Covington, Louisiana, Patsy St. Blanc of Covington, Louisiana and Peggy Wade of Mobile, Alabama.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to:

McRae United Methodist Church, Navy Relief or Georgia Sheriff's Association, Chaplain Division.
