Peggy Sweat Turner

Thursday, May 18, 1933 – October 11, 2025

Peggy Sweat Turner, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home on October 11, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on May 18, 1933, in Alma, Georgia, to the late James and Kate Sweat.

Memorial Services will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jimbo Dominey officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the Chapel of Lowes one hour prior to the service.

Peggy's life was woven with the threads of family, friendship, and professional commitment. Her early years were spent in Waycross, Georgia and in 1961, Peggy made the move to McRae, a decision that would mark the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

Professionally, Peggy was known as the heart of Roydon Wear, where she served as a personnel manager for many years. Her colleagues revered her as the "go-to" person, a testament to her problem-solving skills and her unwavering support for her team. Peggy was a member of McRae Methodist Church.

Peggy's life was further enriched by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton "Mickey" Turner, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and her great-grandson, Joshua Thornburg. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughters, Nancy Moore of McRae and Julie Davis (John) of Atlanta. Peggy's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Jason Hulett (Traci) of Flowery Branch, and Kristie Moore of McRae. The light of her life shone even brighter with the arrival of her great-grandchild, Madeline Hulett, who brought immense happiness to her later years.

Peggy's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who loved her and the countless lives she touched. Peggy's journey on this earth may have concluded, but her influence will continue to resonate for generations to come.
