Orris Steve Mathis

Orris Steve Mathis, 65 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, August 12, 2022 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his Father, Orris Elmer Mathis.

Mr. Mathis was retired from East Coast Asphalt as a Road Construction Superintendent.

Mr. Mathis is survived by his Wife, Mary Mathis; 5 Children, Sandy Mathis of McRae, Jamey (Bethany) Mathis of McRae, Cynthia (Billy) Neill of Eastman, Jonathon (Lacie) Piper of Jacksonville and Christie Piper of Jacksonville; 12 Grandchildren; Mother, Monteal Mathis of McRae; 3 Sisters, Connie (Jackson) Spires of McRae, Pat Poole of McRae and Kathy Hill of McRae.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 14, 2022 from 1 P.M. – 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place immediately after visitation at 2 P.M. and burial will be at Central Grove Church Cemetery. Rev. Darrell Barlow will officiate.
