Nellie Leggett Whitehead age 87 of McRae, Georgia died Monday, August 21, 2017 in the McRae Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 24, 2017 from the Graveside in Alamo City Cemetery, with Rev L.S. Seabolt and Rev. Donald Leggett will officiate. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Whitehead was the daughter of the late Wilton Parrish and Viola Thornton Parrish and widow of the late F.M. Whitehead, she was preceded in death by 2 sons Larry Leggett and Lynn Leggett and a step-son Wayne Whitehead. Mrs. Whitehead was a member of the Alamo Baptist Church and a Homemaker.

Survivors include 2 sons – Ronald (Shirley) Leggett of Alamo and Donald (Brenda) Leggett of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; 2 Step-Sons – Mickey Whitehead of North Carolina and Wendell Whitehead of Cordele; Step-Daughter – Charlotte Aldrich of Dublin. 6 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren also survive.
