Nancy Morris King

Wednesday, December 24, 1941 - Thursday, March 20, 2025

Nancy Morris King, 83, passed away on March 20, 2025 at her residence. Born on December 24, 1941, Nancy was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Morris and Pearl Grace Rhodes Morris. She lived a life marked by dedication to her community and deep familial bonds.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. John J. King and David Elbert Gibbs, her grandson,  Shane King and brothers,  Robert Lewis Morris and Wilbur Lee Morris.

Nancy spent 52 years at Rochelle State Bank,  where she rose to the position of Vice President. Her career was not just a job but a lifelong commitment where she developed and cherished numerous friendships that remained strong until her last days.  Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church of Rochelle.

She leaves behind a loving family,  including her children,  Dianne Owens of Rochelle, Penny Byrd (David) of Leesburg,  Scotty King (Karen) of Rochelle, and Kay Logue (Andy) of Abbeville. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren,  Zach Owens (Dawn), Jake Owens (Carrie), Rebekah Hawkins (Chad), Cole Byrd (Kendra), Austin Byrd (Lauren), Jeremy King (Emily), Michael Penney (Melissa), Kristyn Griffin (Jesse) and 16 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister,  Lou Nobles of Jacksonville,  Florida and sister-in-law, Cathy Morris of Columbia, South Carolina.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday,  March 23rd, at 2 P.M. at Morningside Cemetery in Rochelle. Rev.  Jay Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 1 P.M. - 2 P.M.

Nancy's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the lasting impact she made on those around her.

The family extends their heartfelt and eternal gratitude to Reflections Hospice for their compassionate care during Nancy's final days.

The family is so grateful for your thoughtfulness but in lieu of food, the family requests that remembrances be made in the form of personal reflections and memories, as no one will be present at the home.
