Morris Smith died Wednesday, December 23, 2015, in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 30 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the chapel.

The Rev. L.S. Seabolt will officiate.

Mr. Smith, 86, was born in McRae, to the late Carlos and Amanda Pope Smith.

He had served in the United States Navy, until retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Smith of Gulfport, Mississippi; 2 children, Glen Smith and Diane Smith of Florida; brothers and sisters, Justine Allen of Zephyrhills, Fla., Ed (Wanda) Smith of Snellville, Ga., Carlene Smith of Towns, Ga., Orie (Sue) Smith of Jacksonville, Ga., and Carlos (Mary) Smith Jr. of Dalton, Ga.
