Melvin David Thigpen

Melvin David Thigpen, 79 of McRae, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at Fairview Park Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Runelle W. Thigpen and grandchildren, Kendall Crabb and Cobi Crabb.

Mr. Thigpen was a Transfer Sergeant with the Telfair State Prison.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Lou Thigpen and McRae; daughters, Gloria (Mickey) Webb of Milledgeville and Kristi Thigpen of McRae; granddaughters, Amber Franks and Whitney Webb, both of Milledgeville; great-grandchildren, Addison Johnson and London Amerson, and brother, Mike (Frances) Thigpen of Cochran.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Lowe's Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at 2 P.M. at Telfair Memorial Gardens. Lay Minister Norwood Davidson will officiate.
