Maude Elizabeth Yawn Thompson

Maude Elizabeth Yawn Thompson, 87, of Helena, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at her residence.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with interment in the El Bethel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11 at the funeral home.

The Rev. James Hammock and the Rev. Jody Yancey will officiate.

Maude was preceded in death by her parents, J.H. and Eva Poole Smith and a daughter, Margaret Dykes.

She was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church and retired from Husqvarna after working in the press department for 37 years.

Survivors include 3 children, Loretta Little of Helena, Joe (Betty) Yawn of Chauncey, Brenda (Roy) Spires of McRae; son-in-law, Jeff Dykes of Helena; sister, Connie Stroble of Gainsville, Fla.; brother, H.B. (Kathy) Smith of Mays Landing, New Jersey; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Zion Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 25, Chauncey, Georgia 31011.
