Mattie D. Pitts, 94, of Helena, died on Monday, November 6, 2017 in the Glenwood Nursing Home in Glenwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Prather Pitts and her parents, Pleas and Minnie Yawn McSwain. Mrs. Pitts retired as the Lunchroom Manager with the McRae Helena School.

Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 8th in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Helena City Cemetery.

Mr. Jonathan Seay will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the chapel before the services on Wednesday.

Survivors include her 2 children, Sylvia (Jerry) Powell of Glenwood and Ronnie (Debra) Pitts of Brunswick; 2 step grandchildren; 3 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Elma Hutto of Macon also survives.
