Martha Jean Deskins

Martha Jean Deskins, age 77, of Lumber City, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Lumber City Health & Rehab.

Jean was born in McRae, Georgia on December 31, 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Deskins, sister, Elaine Webster, brother-in-law, Charles Mathis and parents, Dudley and Emma Benton.

She retired from her career as a hairdresser in Warner Robins, Georgia after 50 years of service. She also worked in the gardening area at Lumber City Hardware. She loved her church and working in her flowers.

She is survived by her Sister - Ann Mathis, Niece - Alisa M. Barnett, Nephew – Lee Mathis, Great Niece – Kayleigh Barnett, Great Nephew – Trevor Barnett, Brother-in- law, Gary Webster and Godson – Charlie Holt.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 5, 2024, at Lumber City Baptist Church at 10 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11 A.M. with Rev. Ashley Tyree officiating. Burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Gideons, Donors Favorite Charity or the Lumber City Baptist Church Building Fund.
