Maggie May Anglin Campbell, 96, of McRae passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Southern Charm Personal Care Home in McRae.

Maggie was born in Madison, Georgia to Paul and Bernice Anglin on May 5, 1917. Other than her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Robert Anglin, two sisters, Martha Adkinson and Tallulah Thornhill, and husband, James Campbell.

She graduated from Jacksonville Beauty and Barber College in Jacksonville, FL and moved to McRae in 1936 to become a beautician. She bought her own beauty shop and faithfully served her customers until her retirement in 1976. After coming to McRae, she met and married the love of her life, James Archibald Campbell, on September 29, 1940. They were married for 65 years before his death in 2006. She was the oldest living member of McRae First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Mrs. Campbell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Carey Knowles of McRae, three grand-daughters, Becky and Eric Greene of McRae, Ginger and BL Horne of Glenwood, and Laura and John Ryals of Rhine. Great-grandchildren are Janie and Carter Greene, Lydia and Alayna Horne, Julie and Clay Ryals. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 at McRae First Baptist Church with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Lowe's Funeral Home in Helena.
