Lawson Eugene Jones Jr., age 63, of Jacksonville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.

He was the son of the late Rea Kelly Jones and Lawson Eugene Jones Sr. and was married to Elizabeth Rogers Jones of Jacksonville.

He had been a truck driver with the Georgia Department of Transportation for many years.

A celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 PM, Sunday, May 15th at Blockhouse Baptist Church.

The Rev. Scott Davidson will be officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Jones of Jacksonville; 1 daughter, Kimberly (Jerry) Champion of Alamo; 3 step-children, David Wayne Adams of Niceville, Florida, Nancy L. Adams of Jacksonville and Richard Collins of Dublin; sisters and brother, Betty Hayes of Jacksonville, Florida, Ruth Marie Gore and John Gore both of McRae; granddaughter, Brooke Howell of Eastman.
