Larry Joe Jones, age 69, of Calhoun, formerly of Helena, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.

Mr. Jones was a United States Army Veteran and a member of Helena Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending all family functions and spending time with his family. He also relished in giving advice to anyone who would listen. Mr. Jones was a retired truck driver and also worked for many years as an iron worker.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Murray Jones, and his grandparents, Charlie and Bessie Mae Sheppard and Levi and Claudia Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Jones, of Calhoun; sons, David Hoogerhyde, of Griffin and Monte Hoogerhyde, of St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Tracy Michael ,of Calhoun; mother, Sara Mae Jones Molton, of McRae; siblings, Kenneth and Susan Jones, of Helena, Wayne and Jean Jones, of McRae, Sandra and Rob Darden, of Tifton, Rhonda and Daryl Whatley, of Brunswick, and Mike and Edie Jones, of Tifton; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; one great- great- grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Lowes Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. James Hammock will officiate.

Michael Jones, Lee Duncan, Jeff Duncan, Nate Whatley, Lamar Coleman and lance Farris will serve as pallbearers.
