Larry Michael Bowen
Friday, August 13, 1971 – Tuesday, September 2, 2025
Larry Michael Bowen, age 54, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia. He was born on August 13, 1971, in Douglas, Georgia.
Graveside Services will be held at St. Paul Holiness Church Cemetery on Thursday, September 4 at 11:30 A.M. Rev. Silas Carver will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. prior to the service.
Michael had a love for the outdoors that would stay with him throughout his life. His passion for hunting and fishing was only matched by his dedication to his favorite sports teams, the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. His enthusiasm for dirt car racing was infectious, and he would often be found cheering on his favorite drivers with the same vigor he brought to every aspect of his life.
A self-employed truck driver and heavy equipment operator, Michael was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to tackle any challenge with determination and skill.
Michael's greatest pride, however, was his family. He was a devoted father to his loving children, Brandon Bowen, Brinley Bowen, both of Savannah, and Brayden Bowen of Eastman. He is also survived by his father, Larry Bowen (Carolyn) of McRae, a nephew, Cory Waggoner of Wilkesboro, North Carolina and Step-sisters, Amanda Warren of Heflin, Alabama, Michelle Padgett and Tammy Carroll of Carrollton, Georgia. His legacy will also live on through, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who were blessed to know him.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Sue Padgett Bowen.
As we say goodbye to Larry Michael Bowen, we celebrate a man deeply loved. His memory will continue to inspire us, and his spirit will forever be a part of the lives he touched. Michael's journey on earth may have come to an end, but the stories and memories he leaves behind will ensure that he is never truly gone from our hearts.
