Kent William Van De Mark

Kent William Van De Mark, 79, of McRae, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, in Athens.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the McRae Presbyterian Church. Lay Minister Norwood Davidson will officiate. Kent's beloved niece Teresa Pruski will be giving a eulogy.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Donalda Horton Van De Mark and a sister, Sharen Tipton.

He was a member of the McRae Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder. Also, was active in the Lions Club, the Exchange Club and the American Legion. He was a Veteran in the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War in Alaska.

Kent had retired as an engineer with Husqvarna.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye Van De Mark of McRae; daughters, Gretchen (Stephen) Pettis of Watkinsville, Heidi (Terence) Williams of Houston, TX; grandson, Calvin Pettis; sister, Carol Kent; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
