John William Sheffield Jr.

John William Sheffield Jr.,age 84, of Forsyth Georgia passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11 AM in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with Rev. Woody Woodfin officiating with burial in Telfair Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sheffield was born September 6, 1929 in Telfair County Georgia and lived most of his life in Monroe County Georgia. He was a retired engineer with the

Georgia Department of Transportation and received his engineering degree from

Georgia Tech. He was son of the late John W Sheffield and Lula Mae Davis Sheffield and was preceded in death by a daughter Vicki Lovett and a great grandchild William Busbee.

Survivors include two Daughters Jackie McPherson and June Rainwater (Adam) of

Forsyth; Son John William Sheffield III; six grandchildren John IV, Megan,

Michael, DeRhonda, Christian and Shane; three great-grandchildren Rhianna, Ethan and Justin; sister, Jean Collins of McRae; 2 nephews, Randy Beckham of McRae and Tony Collins of Macon.; companion, Ginger Grimsley of Macon.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to Funeral Service.

Lowe's Funeral Home of Helena has charge of arrangements.
