John Thomas Hulett, 86, of McRae-Helena, passed peacefully in his home on April 22, 2026 following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Robert Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.

John Thomas retired from the GA Forestry Commission in 1994 after 34 years of service. After retiring from the Forestry, he started his own tree planting business and planted pine trees throughout Telfair and surrounding counties. He was also a lifelong farmer and loved riding horses. He was known for having a strong work ethic and a willingness to help others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Lee and Genetta Brown Hulett and two brothers, W. H. and Joe Hulett.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Hulett, their daughter, Sherry Beasley, son-in-law, Ryan Beasley, granddaughter, Holly Beasley, all of McRae-Helena and his sister, Zimmie Christensen, of Hinesville, GA.
