John Lewis Harper, 44, of Helena, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at his residence.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home with interment in the Church of The Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery, Cedar Grove. The Rev. Ronny Saxon will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 15 at the funeral home.

John was the son of the late Bill and Hazel Payton Strickland and was married to Sara Faye Widener Harper.

He was a member of the Glenwood Church of God and had worked for Dusty Lumley Logging Company for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Widener Harper of Helena; 3 children, Quentin Harper, Jesse Harper and Waymon Harper all of Helena; 1 sister, Rhonda Harper.
