John Thomas "Tam" Bunnell
Wednesday, August 7, 1946 – Tuesday, November 19, 2024
John Thomas Bunnell, 78, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at The Villages, Florida. He was born on August 7, 1946, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, to the late John Arthur Bunnell and Erma Jean Burger Bunnell.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Rhodes Bunnell.
He had an Associate of Arts degree and was a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta. His life was one of vibrant color, much like the signs he meticulously crafted as a professional graphic artist. John's artistry was not only in the beauty of his work but also in the way he lived his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him with his kindness and gentle humor.
Tam's legacy of love continues through his son, Josh Bunnell (Leslie) of Alamo, Georgia and his sisters, Penney White of The Villages, Florida, and Jackie Baker (Don) of Yulee, Florida.
Tam's passion for his craft was paralleled only by his dedication to his family. His work as a sign painter allowed him to connect with his community in a unique and enduring way, leaving a lasting impression on the landscape of the towns and cities he adorned with his signs.
As we say goodbye to John Thomas "Tam" Bunnell, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of love, art, and community. He will be remembered as a man who painted not just signs, but also joy into the lives of those around him. John's memory will be a beacon of inspiration and a reminder of the beauty that can be created with a few simple tools and a heart full of passion.
