Joe Wesley Padgett, 76, of Jacksonville, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Lakeside Senior Center in Douglas, Georgia.

Joe was born August 15, 1947 in Jacksonville, Georgia to the late Willie Joe (W.J.) Padgett and Ruby Jewel Bailey Padgett. He was also preceded in death by a son Joe W. Padgett Jr., a brother Newt Padgett and a sister Sue Bowen. Joe had a passion for Hunting and Farming and was a member of Saint Paul Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife – Judy A. Yawn Padgett; Children – Gwen (Dexter French) Padgett, Tracy (Michelle) Padgett and Sheila (Van) Merritt; Grandchildren – Derek (Esther) Bennett, Trey (Mahalia) Padgett, Amber (Josh) Stokes, Taylor (Jennifer) Padgett, Kristy (Austin) Cook and Kayla Merritt; Great-Grandchildren – Alan Stokes, Cole Stokes, Raelyn Cook, Lee Cook, Annlee Padgett, Tayson Padgett, Taisley Padgett and Treyden Padgett; Siblings – Joyce Patterson, Frances (Tommy) Selph, Lilla Mae (Lee) Allen, Dorothy (Terry) Johnson, Teresa Dameron, Ernest (Betty) Padgett, Wimbric (Marian) Padgett, Z.T. (Sandi) Padgett and Johnny (Janice) Padgett; Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Saint Paul Holiness Church with interment in Saint Paul Holiness Church Cemetery. Rev. Jody Silvers, Rev. John Sewell and Rev. Zack Padgett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday, November 13, 2023 at Saint Paul Holiness Church.
