"Jimmy" James Stacey Register, age 61, passed away April 26, 2013 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28 at the Jacksonville United Methodist Church with the Rev and friend Royce Hulett and Rev. Gary Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Jacksonville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born July 23, 1951 in Telfair County to the late William Stacey Register and Annie Mae Register. He was a resident of Telfair County all of his life. Jimmy graduated from Telfair County High School. He worked for Modern Fibers in Fitzgerald, Cook and Company in Lumber City. Then when he finished up his working career, he had his own store in his beloved city of Jacksonville, Georgia. He served as City Councilman and also did what he could to help his son maintain the water works.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife Myra, his son, Andy and his daughter, Amy; 3 grandkids, Lane Register, Lexi Register and McKinzie Williamson; brothers, Benny (Shirley) Register of Helena, Billy (Elaine) Register of Fitzgerald, William (Ida Mae) Register of Wray; sisters, Jackie Darden of Helena, Carolyn Humbree of Lumber City, Annie Lou Ryals of Lumber City and Judy Register of Jacksonville; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Stacey and Annie Mae Register; one brother, Joey Register; one sister, Lula Mae Strickland.

Jimmy was known for his kindness and gentle ways, always helping young and old. He will be missed by all that knew him.
