Jim David (J.D.) Pittman

J.D. Pittman, 92, of Rhine, died on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Pittman was a deacon and the oldest member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jean Varnadoe Pittman; an infant daughter, Brenda Gail Pittman; a grandson, Jody Williams; his parents, Joe Brown and Annie Belle Fountain Pittman; 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, July 15 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and interment will be in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Roy Williams and the Rev. Scott McDuffie will officiate.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Peggy (Roy) Williams of Eastman, Cindy (Wayne) Hilliard of Rhine, Jan (Robert) Lowe of Rhine; a son, Jim D. Pittman Jr. of Rhine; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family will meet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14 at Lowe's Funeral Home, Helena.
