James Lamar Pope

James Lamar Pope, 53, of McRae, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst.

Lamar was the son of the late Leslie Vernon and Mary Rogers Pope and was married to Theresa Oliver Pope. He was a lifelong resident of Telfair County.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 25 in the chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the chapel.

The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Pope of McRae; 3 children, Nicole (Allen) Thompson of Douglas, Aaron Pope and Adam Pope both of McRae; 1 grandson, Chance Thompson of Douglas; 2 sisters, Kathy (George) Austin of Florence, AL. and Sue Briley of McRae; and many friends.
