James Arthur Harris, 48, of Lumber City, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 17, 2014.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, November 30 at Friendship Church Cemetery.

He was the son of the late Andrew Leo and Helen Bennett Harris of Lumber City and was married to Teresa Daphene Zorn Harris of Lumber City. He was preceded in death by a son, Joey Sheppard.

Arthur was a painter and a carpenter and was on Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Daphene Harris of Lumber City; daughter, Chacey Freeman of Lumber City; 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Mizell Godsey of Milan; 3 brothers, Gary Harris of McRae, Alan Harris of McRae and Andy Harris of Milan; several nieces and nephews.
