Jack Herman Lowery, 92, of McRae, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at home. He was born on Tuesday, July 21, 1931, in McRae, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Hugh Lowery and Laura Patterson Lowery. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jacklyn Pearce and son-in-law, David Walker.
Jack was a godly man who loved the Lord and served faithfully for many years. He was known for his kind-hearted nature, sweet spirit, and love for people. He was a steadfast, dedicated husband and partner to his wife, as well as a thoroughly dedicated, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend. His unwavering love and devotion to his family was on display at all times.
In his career, he engaged in various occupations, including farming, driving trucks for Telfair Grocery, driving milk trucks, working at Armstrong and Roydon Wear, managing at Rex, raising goats, tending to chicken houses, and raising and selling quail.
He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and one day had a vision to start Midway Prayer Breakfast which was enjoyed by many for 29 years. He also cooked and provided meals for the residents at McRae Manor Nursing Home and the Telfair County football team.
Jack is survived by his loving Wife - Buena Coleman Lowery of McRae; Daughters - Kathy (Randy) Lann of Milan, Joan Walker of McRae; Son - John (Keli) Lowery of Rentz; Grandchildren - Sam, Eric, Kellie, Nick, Dustin, Kandi, Justin, Jessica, Victoria, Brooke, Savannah, Jay and Chelsea; 31 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sisters - Montana Knowles of Macon and Joann (Billy) Adams of McRae; and Son-in-Law, Pete Pearce. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Lowes Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral service will take place at Milan Church of God on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. The Rev. Ralph Horne will officiate. Immediately following the service, he will be laid to rest at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery.
