Obituary

Ines Clutter Minton, 93 of McRae, GA and formerly of Waynesburg, PA and Hundred WV, died at 5:00 am Thursday, August 27, 2015 in Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin, GA. following a brief illness.

She was born July 18, 1922 in Time, PA, a daughter of Harry S. Clutter and Dora Mae Clutter. She resided in Hundred, WV for 32 years prior to returning to Waynesburg, PA in 1990. In 2013 she moved to Southern Charm, an assisted living facility, to be near her daughter and family in McRae, GA.

On August 22, 1943 she married John G. Minton, who passed away November 10, 2009.

She was a member of the Hundred United Methodist church, an Eastern Star, a former member of the Ladies GASCO Club and a 1940 graduate of Prosperity High School.

When health permitted, she and her husband were avid golfers and enjoyed bowling in Waynesburg's Senior League for 18 years. She enjoyed quilting and knitting. Her greatest joy was cooking and having her family home to enjoy it with her.

To assist in the war effort, Mrs. Minton worked at Jessop Steel and Old Trail Motors assembling hand grenades. Following World War II, she became a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Jerry, husband of Sue Minton of Freedom, PA; a daughter Susan, wife of James(Butch) Mitchell of McRae, GA; two grandchildren, Michael Mitchell (husband of Cathy) and Brianna Mitchell Carey; four great grandchildren, Mitch, Chandler, and Landon Carey and Hali Strykoski; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Minton also leaves behind several special friends at Southern Charm in McRae. The residents and staff became an extended family to her during the last two years of her life.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a son, John G Minton Jr., a brother Von Clutter; sisters Ferne McKissick and Iva Mankey.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local VFW or to the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Rogersville, Pennsylvania.
