Hez Stanley Dowdy, 75, of Helena, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Serenity Place in Dublin.

Hez was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Yawn Dowdy; parents, Annie Eldise Wittington Dowdy and Walter Uriah Dowdy.

He was a member of Rockwell Baptist and retired as a Supervisor at Delco-Remy.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Rockwell Baptist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Rev. David Fisher and the Rev. Benny Moore will officiate.

Justin Pitts, Toby Dowdy, Trenton Dowdy, Daniel Yawn, Justin Pearce and Brett Grenade will serve as Pallbearers. Don Ross, Rocky Hilliard, Dennis Phillips, Keith Newman, Larry Stubbs, Keith Biggers, Whitley "Red" Bryant, Johnny Ashe, Keith Newman and the Men of Rockwell Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Survivors include his 3 children, Steve (Debra) Dowdy of Helena, Michael Dowdy and Renee Dowdy both of Rhine; 6 grandchildren, Deanna (Justin) Pearce of Helena, Justin (Keely) Pitts of Rhine, Hannah (Brett) Grenade of Chauncey, Shania Dorris of Rhine, Erin Dowdy of Rhine and Chase Dowdy of Rhine; 2 great-grandchildren, Marleigh Kate Dorris of Rhine and Fisher Pitts of Rhine; 2 brothers, Earl Dowdy of Abbeville, Buddy (Tiffany) Dowdy of Eastman; 1 sister, Elese (Jimmy) Jones of Milan.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 27th at the funeral home.
