Henrietta "Girlie" Yancey Anderson, 89, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in the McRae Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Anderson best known as "MeMa", was a sweet lady, full of love for her family and friends. She loved flowers, cooking, family get-togethers, and filling her yard with blow-up decorations at Halloween and Christmas for all to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Richard (Monk) Anderson; parents Lewis Daniel (Tuck) Yancey and Jessie May Dowdy Yancey, daughter Marilyn (Merv) Harbin and a grandson Marty Neal. She was a former restaurant owner and a retired cook for Southern Charm Personal Care, and a member of Oak Grove Methodist Church.

Girlie was survived by her children Gary (Janie) Anderson of McRae, Elaine (Edwin) Neal of McRae, Teresia (Charles) Spires of Rhine and Bobbie (George) Willcox of Augusta; Grandchildren Mandi (Quincy) Hudson, Candi (Shannon) Jarvis, Ben (Jo Beth) Anderson, Jared (Leanne) Anderson, Jeremy Harbin, Gillian (Jamison) Dowd, Jamie (Leslie) Neal, Kyle Spires, Kristen Price, Amy (Jeremy) Kaiser, Christopher (Christen) Willcox, Lyndsey Willcox and Noah Henry Willcox; 30 Great-Grandchildren; Brother-in-law Roy (Shelia) Anderson, Sister-in-law Mary Lois Yancey; Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive.

A funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 12-Noon in the chapel of Lowes Funeral Home. Lay Minister Norwood Davidson and Rev. Bobby Joe Ryals will officiate with burial in Telfair Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12-Noon.

Flowers are accepted or contributions may made to the Telfair Christian Learning Center c/o McRae First Baptist Church.

The family appreciates the love and care given by McRae Manor Nursing Home staff and Dr. Brain and Brena Siddall while MeMa was in their care.
