Obituary

Helen Roberson Laughinghouse

Tuesday, November 28, 1950 – Thursday, July 2, 2026

Helen Roberson Laughinghouse, age 75, of Marshallville, Georgia, passed away on July 2, 2026. She was born on November 28, 1950, in McRae, Georgia, to the late Daniel Roberson and Mary Ida Little Roberson.

Memorialization was by cremation and a public ceremony for the interment of remains will be held at Roberson Cemetery in Jacksonville, Georgia, on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Richard Weires will officiate. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Helen devoted much of her life to her home and family as a homemaker, a role she embraced with grace and dedication.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by kindness, gentleness, and a deep love for her family. She was known as a very sweet and loving woman, and those simple words reflect the way she lived each day of her life.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Tena Rathburn Pitzing of Quitman, Georgia and her son, Tracey Rathburn of Thomaston, Georgia. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother, Jarell Roberson (Carol) of Thomaston, Georgia and her sister, Laverne Owens Smith (Artie) of Kathleen, Georgia. The bonds she shared with her siblings were an important part of her life, and those relationships added to the richness of her journey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Mary Ida Roberson.

Those who knew Helen will remember her for her gentle heart, her loving nature, and the peaceful way she carried herself through life. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
