Harriet Yevonne Hulett, lovingly known as “Von,” age 81, of Jacksonville, Georgia, completed her remarkable journey on August 2, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia, leaving behind a lifetime of warmth, laughter, and devotion that will echo in the hearts of all whose lives she touched. She was born on March 23, 1945, in Macon, Georgia to the late Emerald Harold and Hazel Harden Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Edward “Ed” Hulett.

Funeral services will be held at Blockhouse Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. Reverend Bill Jones will officiate, assisted by Reverend Arnold Rye, Reverend Darrell Barlow and Reverend Joey Copeland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Blockhouse Baptist Church on August 5, 2026, one hour prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

A Macon native, Von built a career as Activity Director at McRae Manor Nursing Home. There she found her calling—bringing happiness and comfort to the residents who came to rely on her gentle care. Her devotion was marked by energy, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to brighten each day for the people around her. Her work was recognized in the most meaningful of ways when she was named 2008 Woman of the Year, in honor of her selfless service and the joy she instilled in her community.

Von’s home was always open, filled with tantalizing aromas and gentle laughter. She could cook like nobody’s business—the stuff of legend being her cornbread and biscuits. Her beautiful voice lit up a room; she could whistle with such grace that even the simplest melody became a song of hope. Her positive attitude and the kind smile on her face, a gentle reminder to all that life’s true treasures lie in ordinary moments, shared with those we love.

Family, in every sense of the word, was central to Von’s life. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa Bryan (Tommy) of Pridgen, and Missy Winningham (Steven) of Byron. Her grandchildren, Courtney Stevens (Hugh), Chase Bryan (Sarah), and Matthew Winningham, each carry her legacy of love and kindness forward, along with her great-grandchildren, Liam Stevens and Olivia Jane Bryan. Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ann and Virgil Smith, her nieces, Wanda Barlow (Darrell), Chelsey Morrison (Chad) and Sheila Brittian (Greg), her nephew, Kory Smith (Crissy), and several other nieces and nephews, were blessed by her affection and wisdom.

Moments of quiet happiness—sitting on the front porch watching hummingbirds, working in the yard, and planting flowers—brought Von peace. In every season, she cultivated beauty, patience, and a sense of belonging for all who found themselves in her company.

Though she dearly missed Ed, her steadfast companion of 61 years, Von’s love for life and family was undiminished. Her greatest joy was found in the togetherness of those she called hers.

As we remember Harriet Yevonne Hulett—daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend—we hold on to the warmth of her embrace, the songs of her heart, and the unwavering kindness that was her gift to us all. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in every story, every song, and every quiet evening spent together, sharing in the enduring love she planted in our lives.
