Gene Maurice Williams

Gene Maurice Williams, 87 of Milan, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at the McRae Manor Nursing Home. He is preceded in death by his wives, June Marchant Williams and Rebecca Walker Williams; son, Leonard Maurice Williams and parents, Dave and Ruby Williams.

Mr. Williams was the Telfair County Commissioner for 10 years, worked for the Georgia Peace Officers Association, a Rancher, a member of the Milan Masonic Lodge # 393, member of the Shriners and member of Milan Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicki Morgan of Suwanee, GA., Cindy (Tommy) Greene of Eastman and Gina (Lonnie) Roberts of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Melia (Wil) Harrington of Suwanee, Tom Greene of Eastman and Georgia Roberts of Hazlehurst; great-grandchildren, Lawson Harrington and Wilton Harrington of Suwanee; brothers, Grady (Emma Jean) Williams of McRae and David (Rita) Williams of Milan; sister, Sheila Cook of McRae; special family friend, Audrey Beasley of Milan; and, special caregivers, Sheila Chancey, Jennifer Oliver and Jan Hollaway.

The visitation will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 6 P.M. – 8 P.M. in the Chapel of Lowe's Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 2 P.M. at the Milan Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Brad Waters, Melia Harrington and Terry Cook will officiate.
