Franklin Joe Black, Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his residence in Milan, Georgia, on August 28, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born on November 12, 1958, in McRae, Georgia.

Franklin's journey began in the heart of Georgia, where he was born to the late Forrest Black and Eunice Holly Black. In his professional life, Franklin was a self-employed roofer, a trade that not only showcased his exceptional work ethic but also his dedication to providing for his family.

Franklin is survived by his beloved wife, Kitty Black of Milan, who stood by his side in every chapter of their life together. Their union was blessed with children who brought immense joy and pride to Franklin. He was a devoted father to Timothy Black (Chrystal Hughes) of Eastman, Jennifer Mitchell (Jeff) of Covington, and Melissa King (Dillon) of Dexter. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren each of whom he adored. Franklin was a brother to Johnnie Mae Cook (Flint) of Griffin, Joyce Johnson of Griffin, Pat Johnson (Les) of Jackson, and Janie Carol Brooks of Tennessee. Each of his sisters held a special place in his heart, and their bond was one of mutual respect and affection. Franklin was preceded in death by his son, Franklin Joe Black Jr., affectionately known as "Fatman" and his parents, Forrest and Eunice Black.

As we bid farewell to Franklin Joe Black, Sr., we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

Mr. Black was memorialized by cremation. Services will be private.
