Ernest Brent Martin

Services for Ernest Brent Martin, of Douglas, formerly of Milan, were held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3rd at the Milan Baptist Church with interment in Milan Cemetery.

The Rev. Robert Wigley officiated.

Pallbearers: Rob Jones, James McCranie, Talmadge Padgett, Martin Burch, Kirk Baker, Sammie Williams and Buck Owens. Honorary Pallbearers: Eliza Hersey, Waymon McCranie, Jim Wilkerson, Men Sunday School Class.

Musicians were Gina Cook and Shelley Knowles and special music by Rob Jones and Shelley Knowles.

Mr. Martin, 66, died at his residence on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was the son of the late Ernest P. and Dot Weaver Martin of Milan and was married to Carol Walker

Martin of Douglas.

He was owner of Martin Auto Parts in Douglas, a member of First Baptist Church of Douglas. He sang bass with a Quartet in Douglas. Before moving to Douglas, he was a member of Milan Baptist Church serving as the Choir Director and Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Martin of Douglas; one daughter, Marla (Bryan) Miller of Douglas; one son, Kevin Martin of Douglas; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Mickey Martin of Milan and Preston Martin of St. Simons Island; several nieces.
