Donald Christopher "Chris" Owens, 59, of McRae, Georgia, passed away on May 6, 2026, at his residence. He was born on May 9, 1966, in McRae, Georgia, to the late William Donald Owens and Myrtle White Owens.

Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Chuck Morgan will officiate, assisted by Pastor Deidre Fletcher Greer. Interment will follow at Owens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at Lowes Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Chris worked for many years as a truck driver and was a member of Grace Community Church in Hazlehurst.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Owens of McRae; his sons, Brad Owens (Halee) of East Dublin, Donald Ben Owens (Brianne) of Hazlehurst, and Adam Owens (Abbi) of McRae. He was a proud grandfather to Waylon, Archie, Liam, Hazel, Josie, and honorary grandchild, Hadelyn each of whom brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Owens of Macon, Russell Owens (Beth) of McRae and Jerry Owens (Janice) of Dublin; and his sister, Brenda Gresham (Bill) of Marietta.  His family was the center of his life, and he treasured the bonds he shared with them. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Owens.

Donald Christopher Owens will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but the legacy of his life will live on in the many lives he touched.

Scotland Baptist Church and Grace Community Church will host a reception at Scotland Baptist Church at 12:00 PM Saturday. Everyone is invited to attend.
